Installation Diagram

  • A: Square and Level Framing
  • B: Rough Window Opening per manufacturer’s rough opening sheet.
  • C: To assure adequate clearance, rough framed opening should be according manufacture’s rough opening sheet.

  • A: Wall sheathing (where necessary), verify sheathing edges are flush with frame opening
  • B: Extend sill flashing horizontally to protect beyond vertical jamb
  • C: Apply sill flashing horizontally below the sill. Fasten the top edge of the sill flashing to the framing; but do not fasten the lower edge. Following this procedures will allow the weather resistant building paper (applied later) to be slipped up and underneath the flashing in weatherboard fashion.

  • A: Jamb flashing at both sides of opening. Extend beyond sill flashing and above where head flashing will intersect. Lap jamb flashing over top of sill flashing. Leave bottom edge attached.

  • A: To seal the window frame to opening, apply a continuous seal to the backside of the mounting flange. Include the head near the outer edge, or apply a continuous seal to perimeter of opening at a point, to assure contact with backside of mounting flange & head.
  • B: Shim and adjust window to achieve square, plumb and level condition using corrosion resistant fasteners. Fasten with 10" and no closer than 3" in each direction from every corner. Secure window around frame opening with equivalent of 8d fasteners at 10" O.C. maximum.
  • C: After installation, seal all corners of mechanically joined frames to seal frame seam juncture.

  • A: Apply continuous seal along top (head) mounting flange. Embed bottom of head flashing against sealant (flashing goes over sealant). Extend head flashing beyond each jamb flashing. Fasten in place.
